Their song “Ddu-Du Ddu-Du" was released on June 15 of last year, and was recognized by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on Aug. 15 with half a million certified units. The song, typically stylized in all caps, peaked on the Hot 100 at No. 55 on the chart dated June 30, 2018.
One equivalent song unit, as recognized by the RIAA, is equal to: one digital song sale, or 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams. The RIAA revamped its Gold & Platinum Awards Program on Feb. 1, 2016, growing from a pure sales certification process to one that includes tracks and streams.
